It defines the required specimen geometries and the inner surface quality of hollow specimen of metallic materials, filled with a high-pressure-gas. The procedure is intended for screening and characterisation of metallic materials by assessing changes in mechanical properties resulting from various test gases, temperatures, or test pressures. Specific test conditions for tensile testing with high-pressure hydrogen gas are provided in normative Annex A.
