This document specifies a procedure to determine the flow point of lubricating greases, preferably with NGLI consistency grades 0 to 2, according to ISO 6743-99. It also describes the procedure to evaluate further specific visco-elastic properties of lubricating greases.

This document specifies a procedure to determine the consistency of a metal-saponified lubricating grease by an oscillatory rheometer. This test method is applicable for fresh as well as used lubricating greases where only small quantities of the grease are present and the usually used worked penetration cannot be determined due to the small quantity. The determined calibration is only valid for metal-saponified lubricating greases like lithium, lithium calcium and also lithium- and calcium complex. The method described in this document is applicable for lubricating greases with NLGI grades 00, 0, 1, 2 and 3 in accordance with ISO 6743-99. For greases of other NLGI grades no precision was determined.

ISO/TS 11366:2011 applies to mineral oils used as lubricating oils and to control fluids used to lubricate steam, gas and combined cycle turbines in service. The lubricants considered in ISO/TS 11366:2011 are those classified in ISO 6743-5 and specified in ISO 8068.

ISO/TS 11366:2011 is intended to help power equipment operators evaluate the conditions of the oil in their equipment and maintain the oils in serviceable conditions;

help users understand how the oils deteriorate and carry out a meaningful programme of sampling and testing of oils in use.

ISO/TS 11366:2011 also gives instructions with respect to the corrective actions that are taken to maximize service life.

ISO 13357-1:2017 specifies a procedure for the evaluation of the filterability of lubricating oils, particularly those designed for hydraulic applications, in the presence of water. The procedure only applies to mineral-based oils, since fluids manufactured from other materials (e.g. fire-resistant fluids) may not be compatible with the specified test membranes. The range of application has been evaluated with oils of viscosity up to ISO viscosity grade (VG) 100, as defined in ISO 3448. Within the range described, the filterability as defined is not dependent on the viscosity of the oil. The procedure is not suitable for some hydraulic oils on which specific properties have been conferred by the use of insoluble/partially soluble additives, or by particularly large molecular species.

NOTE Filterability is a prime requirement for lubricating oils used in hydraulic systems because of the fine filters used in this application.

ISO 13357-1:2017 defines a method for assessing the filterability of oils in the presence of contaminating water. It is noted that some oils will exhibit poorer filterability characteristics in these conditions. ISO 13357‑2[1] is used to investigate the filterability of an oil which is used in applications where the presence of water in the oil is unlikely. An oil which has good filterability in the presence of contaminating water will not necessarily have equally good filterability in dry conditions. An oil having good filterability only when wet is unlikely to be generally acceptable.
