This document specifies the test conditions and methods to be used for the vibration testing of unmanned aircraft system (UAS, including unmanned aircraft and ground station) which applies to level II through V according to ISO 21895.
The vibration techniques and values specified are intended to reflect the vibration environment that the UAS will be exposed to during transportation and flight.
This document mainly specifies elements of information exchange between UTM service provider (USP) and different users to support relevant UTM services between them, while the protocol requirements and the transmission requirements at the operational level are not included.
This document excludes interface between USP and USP, interface between USP and provider of operation support services.
This document specifies methods for recording the time history of instantaneous sound pressure in several positions around rotor powered UAS with a maximum take-off mass (MTOM) of less than 150 kg. It aims at characterizing the UAS noise in different working conditions, but the efforts are left to the manufactures or client requirement to decide the needed measurements. It does not account for the UAS noise certification or regulation. The classification of the UAS based on MTOM is specified in
ISO 21895:2020.
Note 1 to entry This document can also be applied to measure the sound pressure from a UAS with either multiple rotors or a single rotor.
This document focus on measuring the sound pressure signals of the UAS under different working conditions, based on which post-processing of the recorded data can be conducted. For example, by computing the narrow-band noise spectra, the tonal noise components can be extracted. However,
requirements for signal processing and evaluation of the measured data are not specified in this document. Instead, recommendations for several commonly used noise metrics are provided for the UAS noise tests in different conditions, and the procedures to compute these metrics based on the recorded data are given in Annex A.
a) It gives recommendations for three different test facilities for the noise measurements of various categories of multirotor-powered UAS.
— Chapter 7 specifies requirements of UAS noise tests in anechoic chambers.
— Chapter 8 specifies requirements of UAS noise tests in anechoic wind tunnels.
— Chapter 9 specifies requirements of UAS noise tests in outdoor environments.
b) It gives recommendations for configuration of noise measurement for multirotor-powered UAS in hover, vertical take-off and landing, and horizontal cruise.
c) It gives recommendations for the test configuration and procedures to minimize the influence of meteorological effects.
Note 1 to entry For flight conditions, this document only considers unidirectional motion at constant operation speed.
